Vietnams Ministry of Culture has approved permision to Vu Hoang My, 1st runner-up at the Miss Vietnam 2010 pageant, to represent the country in the Miss Universe 2011 competition in Sao Paulo, Brazil from August 20 to September 12.

Hoan Vu company, the license holder to send Vietnamese representative to Miss Universe contest sent a single record of Vu Hoang My to the Department for approval.

Beauty Queen Vu Thi Hoang My from Dong Nai birth in 1988, 1.71 m high with 3 rounds of 85-65-89 measurements. She is a student at RMIT University.

Hoang My was supposed to represent Vietnam at the Miss Asia Pacific World pageant in Korea this June; after this contest got postponed -it was moved to October-, she will attend Miss Universe instead.

Cambridge Union Society Welcomes Miss World 2010.

Miss World and Miss World Africa deliver speeches.
Yesterday evening, Miss World Alexandria Mills and Miss World Africa Emma Wareus impressed the gathered students and alumni of the University of Cambridge as they delivered speeches in the famous Debating Hall of the Cambridge Union Society. Invited to speak by the world's oldest and most prestigious debating society, it gave the assembled audience a chance to hear about all aspects of what it means to be Miss World.
Alexandria's speech, entitled "More Than I Could Ever Imagine", focused on her experiences of becoming Miss World, and how it has changed her life, offering a personal and emotional insight into her time as Miss World. Emma explained the role of Beauty with a Purpose and the international charity work that is at the heart of Miss World, as well as different perspectives in Botswana, Africa, and around the world. Together they spoke for over an hour, and the enthusiastic response from the audience continued as they spent a further hour and a half meeting and speaking with those in attendance, answering further questions.
Earlier in the day, Alexandria and Emma met with students and society members for a tour of Cambridge and the University campus, and enjoyed a traditional punting boat trip along the River Cam.

Miss Philippines Earth 2011, the 11th Miss Philippines Earth Pageant will be held on June 5 in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Miss Philippines Earth 2010, Kris Psyche Resus (photo above) will crown her successor at the end of the contest.

This year's Miss Philippines Earth theme was the "International Year of the Forests" as it centers this years pageant edition with the promotion of forests conservation.

The one lucky Beauty Queen will represent the Philippines in Miss Earth 2011 pageant to be held in Pattaya, Thailand on December 3.
