FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT MY HOMETOWN/COUNTRY
My favorite things about my country are:
1. The people. I feel that here in The Bahamas we have the most amiable people and most unique (in terms looks and character).
2. It may sound clichd but our wonderful weather; sun, sand and sea. I have been to many different states and countries and I've always desired to be home laying on the beach year round rather than to brave four different seasons.
LIFES AMBITIONS
My interest in anthropology and linguistics have long been an aspect of my personal goals. I love to travel and expand my knowledge of the cultures around me and my ultimate goal would be to become a linguist; knowing a total of six languages. I'm currently studying French and Mandarin.
HOBBIES
Swimming, dance, modeling, reading, cooking
MY GOALS IN LIFE
In five years I would possibly be fulfilling my interests of traveling the world and learning more about its diverse cultures as an anthropologist and a linguist.
MY BEST ASSET IS
I feel that my eyes are my best asset; they are a beautiful shade of brown and stand ou! t as one of my most striking features. It has often been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul and I feel that the unique shade of my eyes reflect my cordial nature.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS
A great man once said," Life's most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others" (Martin Luther King Jr). Like my mother I've long held a belief in humanitarianism, the world today is fast evolving into an undesired nature that centers around the selfish notions of individualism. My daily Philosophy is to be an advocate for the less fortunate, less privileged, especially in relation to the physical and mentally disabled.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE
Book: Restavec /Movie: The Color Purple, this book&this movie influenced me in a variety of ways especially in learning to overcome adversity despite overwhelming failures that continue to be a part of our everyday struggle for success.
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
I would like to meet Russell Simmons because I find his character to be very motivating and full of encouragement. It is always interesting to find someone who has a passion for success without an egotistical nature as a result; especially when it comes to public out-reach and community service.
I AM MOTIVATED BY:
I am motivated by my mother. Throughout my life time I have been a witness of her ability to overcome many aspects of negativity and defeat. She has touched the lives so many individuals imparting wisdom and evoking optimism where ever she treads. I hope to, one day, touch someone's life in the way that she has touched so many.
WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE?
I have yet to find anything that I have done to be uniquely unusual.
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE THE MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF
Volunteering for the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF). This was truly a wonderful experience that allowed me to converse and interact with people from very diverse backgrounds and c! ultures. Hearing their stories and the inspiration behind their films was a very awe-inspiring experience, especially since the majority of them weren't very fluent in English.
WHAT I WOULD LIKE THE JUDGES TO KNOW ABOUT ME
I am a very strong-willed individual that has an innate passion for art and culture. My life-long goal is to be fluent in at least six languages and to travel to as many countries as possible, learning about their history and cultures. I have already made steps towards this direction, completing courses in Conversational Mandarin and French. I'm currently learning how to play the guitar and occasionally write a number of short stories and poetry that are sometimes used in collaboration with my friends for art and illustrative purposes. My love for reading has made me quite knowledgeable and has diversified my thought process in a very positive and persistent, but yet humble way. I consider myself to be a purpose-driven individual with a love for humanity which I think is a necessity for anyone thinking about being an ambassador of The Bahamas.

The Favorite Things about my country is that I can enjoy the natural resources for free that from centuries past until now people pay and travel to see. The people, the food (I can talk about this all day) and my surroundings are filled with something so unique and diverse you cannot compare it to any other nation in the world. I love our culture, specifically Junkanoo because regardless of denomination or class every unit combines to hear or perform awesome music, to have fun and to win "da Valley." To be in a country that contains 700 island and cays, each island offering something totally different from the other, to me is like a cornucopia of greatness combine into one. That is why no matter how small we are as a country we have something that attracts people from every part of the globe. As Pastor Myles Munroe proudly states my country is "The Place Where God lives." We have so much rich history and intangible assets here that are yet to be discovered and utilized.
LIFES AMBITIONS:
To fulfill my God given purpose and accomplishing my g! oals to the best of my ability, becoming a positive contribution to myself, my family and my country at large.

In five a years I would like to be established in setting a foundation to keep me and my family financially, spiritually, physically and emotionally stable. I would like to have completed my Bachelors degree and all of my certifications towards this venture.

Another day I am blessed to live is another opportunity to make a positive transformation. Something like a butterfly in metamorphosis.

My personality. I tend to be optimistic and try to find the best in others even when obstacles tend to be in my way to alter my view on a particular situation or person. Sometimes it tends not to work in my favor and probably would encourage me to be more of a pessimist, but I prefer to expect the best and prepare for the worst instead of the opposite.

President Barak Obama. This may be a Common response but I want to meet him because of the challanges he had to overcome and if I can obtain some of his advice I would use it to progress.

The realization that I am a vessel filled with so much potential, that can be used by God to first of all improve myself, others, my community and my country in a way that only I could. It is a reason each of us is placed on the Earth and we are contributors to what happens in it whether it's negatively or positively.

I was an enumerator in the 2010 National census. It was a exciting and inte! resting experience that made me aware of the importance of information. I describe myself a Misfit mainly because I am an unusual person, and I consider that to be something good. Id rather stand out than blend with the crowd.

In five years I wouldve completed my Bachelors Degree in Forensic Science and Mortuary, and in the process of achieving my Masters Degree, while contributing to my country in helping solve crimes through my field of study; as I develop a sound mind and a closer relationship with my walk in Christ while building a keen knowledge of my purpose in life.
MY BEST ASSET IS
My best ass! et has t o be my skin. Ive come to that conclusion because there are times I would dress so nice, looking my best and expecting people to get that WOW factor. Instead, they just say what nice skin, so I guess skin it is.
MY DAILY PHILOSOPHY IS
My daily philosophy is to embrace a special opportunity every day, whether its to make a person laugh or become more aware. When theres a good moment I clinch onto that and develop it, when theres a bad moment I reflect and correct so that next time the outcome can be different.
THE MOVIE (AND/OR BOOK) THAT MOST INFLUENCED MY LIFE
The Imitation of life. This movie showed me the importance of following your dreams and family. This movie has influenced me in a way that whatever decisions I make, whether directly or indirectly family must be a part of it, because they occupy the most import part, the heart. You can become as successful as you want; but if that family foundation is left behind, a human is lost.
WHO I WOULD LIKE TO MEET AND WHY
Tina Turner! Shes is a legend; shes a woman who did not give up. Her dramatic life story is known around the world. After years with her violent husband Ike she finally left him and started to rebuild her own career as a solo artist. She was half a million in debt and it took eight years of hard work before she finally hit the charts. 1984 was the year of her worldwide comeback and the rise of a New Queen.
I AM MOTIVATED BY
LIFE! This is personal, working in the morgue I get to see the end of life of many young individuals 16, 20, and 30 years of age; and the question I ask is what would he or she have become if only given the chance to live again. Ive realized that death is real so whatever you dream about, do it. Friends and family cant stop you, but the end of life sure can. What we do for ourselves dies with us, but what we do for others last forever.
WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL THING YOU HAVE EVER DONE?
5.4.3.2.1 JUMP! The most unusual thing Ive done was bungee jump from a 320 ft drop at! amuseme nt park, which was a liberating experience.

I am proud of my island and the kind of life that I have enjoyed here, the island setting has always allowed me to be free which made me a little rough around the edges (tomboy), the climbing, bare feet, chasing dogs, etc. Today that rearing and experience has made me into a young woman that would be a great representative for the Bahamas, my beauty, grace, kindness can all be attributed to the life that I have enjoyed in my country. So I am most proud when asked where are you from? And my answer is Bahamas.
