Tell something about your family, your childhood and your experience in beauty pageants.

I have a big warm family that enjoys each others company. A part of my family lives here in Bonaire, others live in the Netherlands, Spain, Colombia, Lebanon and in the USA. But there is a big part of my family that I still havent met yet. You can say that I am a whole mixture of nationalities.

I had a good childhood, with strict rules though. But now if I loo! k back I am only happy that my parents raised my brother and I that way. Because I definitely see the difference between me and other teenagers/ young adults of my age. As we grew older and wiser our mother gave us more freedom and let us made our own decisions and start being responsible for our own actions.

To be honest, I never taught I would be competing into beauty pageants. Last year was the first time that I really sat down and watched the MU 2010 pageant with all my attention. The years before I heard of it but I never really were interested to watch it.

After being crowned as Miss Bonaire 2010/2011 on September 4th 2010 I went to represent my island at the Miss Intercontinental 2010 pageant as part of gaining experience in the international pageant competition where I ended on the 9th place out of the 67 contestants.

What is your motto? What does that motto mean to you?

Never a failure, always a lesson. I think that says enough.

If you could change one thing about you, what would it be?

I know that nothing is perfect in this world, neither am I. But dont get me wrong; I wouldnt change anything about myself. I believe there is a reason why I am the way that I am and that I still have to learn certain things about myself. I just try to be the best I can be and make the best of who I am. I take myself as I am, and hope that others will do too.

Look at Barbie and Ken, neither they are perfect; they are plastic and stiff. So why should we try to be perfect while the world is made imperfectly?

What is in your bag right now?

Right now: A bottle of water, my wallet, black! berry, g um, a plum, perfume, an Elle and Cosmo magazine and lip-gloss.

How are you preparing for the Miss Universe pageant?

The Miss Universe and any other grand slam pageant are very intense. I have to be Mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for the competition. I try to keep my figure in shape by going to gym, eating healthy and drinking a lot of water. I watch the news, and follow other pageants and watch old pageants on the Internet. I do also give interviews and take lessons of etiquette, personal styling and other lessons so I can be well prepared for a grand slam pageant.

What's your nickname?

I got a bunch of nicknames, cause every friend or family member of mine calls me a different one, but the most common one is: Bena (you say it as Benna). Some others are: Ben, Bennie, Hartje, Zenabier, Benoes, ziirtje, Miss Bonaire and the list goes on and on!

What was the most embarrassing moment you ever had?

I actually dont remember, but if I had and have an embarrassing moment I usually laugh about it or in some cases I act like nothing happened. Im pretty sure its sounds very familiar for some of you who is reading this right now.

Benazir's Favorites:

Favorite Singer = I Dont have only 1 favorite, I like several artist such as Rihanna and Usher etc.

Favorite Song at the moment = Moment 4 life Nicki Minaj Ft. Drake

Favorite Actress = I dont really have a favorite actress, but I like Nicole Kidman.

Favorite Actor = I like Morgan freeman and Den! zel Wash ington.

Favorite Movie = I don't really have favorite movies. But to name one that I like is: Blood Diamond.

Favorite Meal = I just love fish, it doesnt really matter how its prepared or which kind of fish it is as long it looks good and is delicious. Served with funchi (a typical corn dish), rise or vegetables.

Favorite Book = The Millennium Trio logy of Stieg Larsson.

Favorite Sport = I love to try out and see sports. But not that I have a favorite one though because in my younger years till a few years ago I had a problem with my knee so I had to stop doing sports or certain movements. But I like to work out/fitness is that a sport too?

Favorite Beauty Secret = Drink a lot of water and work out; stay in shape.

Favorite Miss Universe = I dont really have a favorite Miss universe winner, because to me there is a reason why they were chosen, each winner has its own beauty and quality. They are all unique in their own way and in the time they were crowned.
