MISS NORWAY UNIVERSE 2011.
Upon insistence of the Organization, Norway will be represented in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant to take place in Sao Paulo Brazil.
Miss Universe Norway is Lisa-Mari Moen Junge, 23 years old 177 cm tall from Molde. She competed in the Miss World and Miss International pageants before her new journey to the Miss Universe competition.

ONE STEP CLOSER TO INTERNATIONAL STARDOM AT AMBER CHIA ACADEMY.
ln line with their efforts to produce a brand new variety show programme,
Television Broadcast Limited (TVB), a renowned commercial television station
from Hong Kong, will be expanding their wings to Malaysia for casting purposes,
in their quest to recruit fresh talents.
Amber Chia Academy {ACA) has been selected as the exclusive venue for the
carsting sessions, and two producers from TVB will be flying in directly from Hong
Kong to carefully handpick the applicants. Successful applicants will be flown to
Hong Kong, for three days and two nights, where they will be featured in the
variety show programme. Recording for the programme, which will be aired on
TVB Jade channel during prime time, will take place of the iconic TVB City.
"l believe that this is an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity that aspiring
talents from Malaysia should not miss if they wish to get their foot in the door
which may lead to stardom of an international level! And I am beyond thrilled
that they (TVB) have chosen to collaborate with Amber Chia Academy to
provide such a fantastic platform for our pool of local talents," said ACA principal

For this variety show programme, the producers will be looking for talented and
attractive looking individuals, both female and male, that are able to converse
fluently in Cantonese, Mandarin and or English. Additionally, they are also
casting for female talents with masculine-looking features as well as male talents
with feminine-looking features. All interested applicants should not have
undergone any sexual re-assignment surgeries, and must be of least l8 years
in age.

Beauty Pageants have never been about inner beauty, so why does intellect have to be part of the criteria now?
Admit it - the only reason we watch beauty pageants is oogle at the beautiful faces, not admire contestant's cerebral power. We have Math Olympiads and Nobel Prize for that.
That being said, I applaud the organiser's intention of revamping the beauty contest to make it more respectable.
But doing away with the swimsuit section seems to be over-reaction.
The point of the beauty contest is to pick the most gorgeous woman and contestants judged on their appearance.
So what better way to admire them than seeing them parade down the walkway in bikinis?
As long as the swimsuits are not skimpy to the point of threatening wardobe malfunctions, respectability will prevail.
There is no need for beauty pageants to hide behind charitable work and peace promotion.
The reason beauty pageant exist is so that attractive women can strut down the walkway with confidence while we look on.
"Confidence" because there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about looking hot.

Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today that Natalie Morales, news anchor and co-host on NBCs Today and Andy Cohen, host of Bravos Watch What Happens: Live will host the 2011 MISS UNIVERSE Pageant live from Credicard Hall in So Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 9-11 p.m. ET on NBC. A live Spanish simulcast will air on Telemundo.
We are happy to welcome Andy and Natalie to the Miss Universe stage where they are sure to turn up the heat in So Paulo, said Shugart. This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the MISS UNIVERSE Pageant and what better place to showcase beautiful women from around the world than in Brazil, a country that is as charming and beautiful as its people.
Natalie Morales was recently named news anchor for NBCs Today. She also serves as co-host of Third Hour, a position she has held since 2006 when she joined the NBC News team as a national correspondent. Natalie previously hosted the 2010 MISS USA Pageant and the 2010 MISS UNIVERSE Pageant.
Andy Cohen is the host and executive producer of Watch What Happens: Live, Bravos late night, interactive talk show that features guests from some of Bravos most popular series, as well as from the world of entertainment, politics and pop culture. He is also the executive vice president of original programming and development for Bravo where he oversees the development and production of more than two dozen shows such as Top Chef, The Real Housewives franchises and The Millionaire Matchmaker.
The 2011 MISS UNIVERSE Pageant kicks off a series of worldwide events hosted by Brazil. In addition to this global beauty event, Brazil is host to the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games. With the city of So Paulo at center stage, the pageant will take place at Credicard Hall, a prominent music theater for the city.
The two-hour television event, comprised of contestants representing approximately 90 countries around the world, will compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and interview. In past years, worldwide distribution of the competition has topped nearly 190 countries and territories.Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarrete of Mexico will crown her successor at the conclusion of the telecast.
During her reign, Navarrete traveled the world as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation. Named GQ Mexicos Woman of the Year, she also continued her work as a model appearing in ads for LOreal Mexico and was featured on the cover of numerous international magazines like InStyle Mexico and Ocean Drive Puerto Rico.
