Top Model of the Bahamas winner

It was a beautiful day for beautiful models, and at the end of it all Anastagia Pierre was named the new Top Model of The Bahamas! She captured the title during a fantastic fashion show in which the 2011 Miss Bahamas contestants were transformed into fierce fashionistas, modeling the creations of two leading Bahamian designers and ensembles of their own choosing.

The Compass Point Beach Resort provided a breathtaking backdrop for the event which attracted hundreds of pageant fans and supporters who came out to cheer on their favorite contestants. Hosted by Miss Bahamas 2010 Braneka Bassett and Mr. Caribbean Donovan Ingraham, the show began with contestants displaying their personal style in white.

Chic, sophisticated, sexy, hippy and diva are some of the words used by the ladies to describe their fashion sense, and this was clearly evident in the fabulous ensembles they wore. One by one, they strut down the resort's dock - which had been beautifully transformed into a runway by Wild Seed Designs - to the watchful eyes of the judges: Anishka Lockhart, Stephanie Smollett, Giovanni Wilkinson, Archie Minnis, and Keejo Forbes.

Next up, swimwear which once again gave the contestants an opportunity to express their own personal style and creativity. With fit bodies as their canvas, the contestants created an amazing scene with themes ranging from resort, to haute couture, to a Victoria's Secret angel! With the audience whipped into submission, the show took an intermission while music was provided by the popular band Willis and The Illest. The final scene featured the designs of Apryl Jasmine and Javotte House of Couture. The contestants looked ! amazing as they stomped the runway in these incredible designs that took creativity to another level.

The audience waited with anticipation as the scores were tallied by the accountants of Grant Thornton Bahamas. When it was all said and done, the final results were as follows: 2nd runner up, Miss Lucky Restaurant Sasha Joyce; 1st runner up, Miss Hershey's Chocolate Darronique Young; and Top Model of the Bahamas 2011 Anastagia Pierre!
